After going over important goings-on over the last two weeks in catching up with each other and celebrating Shane's birthday (it turns out he is NOT the oldest member of the team...), we went over Sean's masterful power point. We practiced the power point that we will give on April 25, 2009 in Daytona Beach at the District Conference.
We are extremely excited that the Netherlands team will be here on Saturday (in 3 days-I'm sure they are estatic!)!
Also, we received our schedules for the Netherlands trip this week!!! It looks very exciting with the perfect balance of vocational visits, nature preserve hikes, tourism, and Rotary meetings. The schedule also includes a cooking class, a bike tour, Guild sport traditional shooting, and a breakfast fitness-sounds new and unique to the Netherlands-perfect!! We sincerely appreciate the Netherlands team putting this schedule together and thank the families for hosting the five of us. Also, dank u wel Monier Ton Sijstermans oit RC Kerkrade and Monier John van Dijk oit RC Hoensbroeck for joining our blog. Also, dank u wel for helping to organize the first week of our Netherlands experience beginning with a Welcome BBQ at the Hoensbroek Castle (visit http://members.tripod.com/hoensbroek-castle/index.html).
Thank you to Sarah and the St. Augustine Sunrise Rotary Club for a wonderful breakfast and a warm welcome and presentation of the Club flags. I gladly take them to represent you and thank you again for sponsoring me on this once in a lifetime experience!
With less than five weeks left until the trip, we need to get packing and continue with Dutch! See you at the District Conference on April 24th!
